COURSE DESCRIPTION

The two-day APHON Chemo/Biotherapy Provider Course is designed to provide the RN/LVN with the knowledge base needed to safely care for children and adolescents receiving chemotherapy. Those who take the course and pass on examination will be issue a card by APHON that says they have successfully met the APHON National Standards for being trained to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy to pediatric patients.

Class attendance

Be courteous and on time. It is disruptive to other students and instructors and difficult for late students to catch up once the class starts. Students are expected to attend and participate in the entire course. You will not be allowed to attend the class if you are late 20 minutes or more.

C.E. credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 183, for 16.5 contact hours.

Registrations are confirmed only if fee is provided with registration form.

CLASS LIMIT: 30 participants

Course Fee:

CHLA employees: $150.00

Community participants: $300 registration fee for community healthcare provider.

Fee includes course syllabus and chemo book.

Refund policy

For a Full Refund:

You must cancel your pre-paid registration five (5) business days prior to the class to receive a full refund
If Childrens Hospital Los Angeles cancels a program, a full refund will be granted
Registration fees will be refunded within three weeks after notification

Partial Refunds

For cancellations made less than five (5) business days prior to the date of the course, a 50% refund will be given
Registration fees will be refunded within three weeks after notification

No Refund

If a registered participant does not show up for class, no refund will be given
Payment for textbooks are non-refundable

Course Cancellations

Classes are subject to change and/or cancellation on short notice
Class registrants will be notified (by mail, phone or email) of any cancellations

Parking

Hospital Self-Parking

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for $7 per day.
There are no in-and-out privileges on the same ticket.

Main Visitor Parking Garage

Our main visitor parking is located beneath the main hospital building at 4650 Sunset Boulevard (near the intersection of Sunset & Vermont). Parking in the hospital's main Visitor Parking Garage is limited. The main Garage fills by 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Across From the Hospital

Additional parking is located at 4551 Sunset Blvd, 1/2 block East of Rodney. This structure's entrance is on the north side of Sunset Blvd. This lot is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM through 6:00 PM. Rates for this parking garage is a flat rate of $5.00
